GOOD GRIEF! - 19 10 12

“When are you going to get used to it?”

When an event happens and a person feels grief, the grieving process may be long. If a person is stuck in grief they may seek support to move through it.

For some, the event is just the beginning. More unimagined fears come to stay. More dearly wanted hopes may be dashed on the emerging rocks of reality.

The spectrum of children and parents is huge and all need to be supported wherever they are on their unique journey so they can find some peace and enjoyment with their life as it is. Some get a really tough set of cards which keeps being added to. There are more losses. There’s even more to get used to.

I think of Dorothy Parker’s quote, “What fresh hell is this?”

I think of a dear friend's words, "Sharp pain in your heart does become, in time, like pebbles on the beach, rounded at the edges, but still very heavy to carry xxx"

I hope I'm getting better at playing whatever cards are dealt.
